Bridge Over Troubled Waters

By: Simon and Garfunkel2

When you're weary
Feeling small
When tears are in your eyes
I will dry them all I'm on your side
When times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you I'll take your part
When darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

Sail on Silver Girl,
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way See how they shine
If you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind

This is why, as it applies to those who are called to go on the path, “many are called but few are chosen.”

Question: What does God mean by “your cooperation is necessary”? In the next Chapter: The Promises of Salvation, God explains this as:

God’s answer:

Blood, sweat and tears
Change is not easy.

We must be willing to change. This is the cross we bear. Although it is Jesus who frees us from sin, how “heavy” or “light” our share of the burden is depends entirely on our willingness to be transformed. It is our resistance to change that makes the path difficult.

Although, we do endure hardship that comes with dealing with change, it is by far lighter than the weight of the world one carries on a daily basis by living in this world. This is why Jesus said:
